Our Responsibility
Social Responsibility
“the question of what you want to own is actually the question of how you want to live your life”
Marie Kondo – Interior Designer
As a family-owned and operated company, we care deeply about the health and welfare of our employees, our customers, our vendors, and our community. While we are always striving to achieve the highest standards of accountability, our customers can remain confident that Geovin is committed to regularly reviewing our manufacturing processes and the business practices of our vendor partners.
The hallmark of our products is that they are seen amongst our customers as an investment into a quality product, as opposed to the disposable mentality so prevalent in modern life. We produce tried-and-tested quality products that, if looked after, should last decades.
Environmental Responsibility
Being sustainable is a way of life at Geovin. We believe that protecting our environment is the right thing to do. That is why we pledge to promote sound and sustainable business practices for the benefit of all those who depend upon us now and for those who will depend upon us in years to come.
Coatings
- We only use coatings with the Greenguard certification. Products that have achieved Greenguard certification are scientifically proven to meet some of the world’s most rigorous third-party chemical emissions standards, helping to reduce indoor air pollution and the risk of chemical exposure.
Wood
- We only use FSC certified wood, locally harvested from Eastern Canada and Northeastern USA. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) helps take care of forests and the people and wildlife who call them home. FSC certification helps forests remain thriving environments for generations to come.
Composite
- We only use Carb Phase 2 compliant panels. The regulation has to do with reducing formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products with the purpose of maintaining and improving air quality and researching causes and solutions of air pollution.
Packaging
- Our packaging materials consist largely of high-recycled content cardboard which is easily divertible from landfill and contributes to recycling and reuse programs. We recycle everything we can, including corrugated cardboard, office paper, aluminum cans, glass, plastics, and ink cartridges.
